Tivoli Gardens

The Tivoli Gardens, a combined garden and amusement park, in Copenhagen is a must for all visitors of the city, young and old. Tivoli is located just a few minutes walk from the City Hall and with Copenhagen Central Station as its nearest neighbour, it is very easy to get to.

Tivoli Gardens was founded in 1843 and has become a national treasure and an international attraction. Fairytale writer Hans Christian Andersen visited multiple times, as did Walt Disney and many other celebrities, who all fell in love with the gardens.

Part of Tivoli Gardens' secret is that there is something for everyone. The scenery is beautiful with exotic architecture, historic buildings and lush gardens. At night, thousands of coloured lights create a fairy tale atmosphere that is completely unique.

Magical and nostalgic rides

The rides are all designed to match Tivoli's architecture and gardens. Tivoli’s oldest and most popular ride, the wooden rollercoaster from 1914, is one of only seven roller coasters worldwide which have a brakeman on board who manually operates the brake.

Dining in Tivoli Gardens

Experience the Tivoli Food Hall where you will find some of the city's best eateries, along with exciting and brand-new food concepts. As a guest, you will be able to choose from a range of tempting gastronomic offerings and you can satisfy your thirst with high-quality beverages. Tivoli Food Hall is located at the corner of the main entrance to Tivoli opposite the central station with free access from the street. Tivoli Food Hall is open all year.

Experience Halloween, Christmas and winter in Tivoli

Every autumn, Tivoli Gardens is transformed into an enchanted Halloween universe full of witches, pumpkins, and lanterns.
From mid-November until January, Tivoli celebrates Christmas and New Year and houses the most magical Christmas universe and Christmas market in Copenhagen.
During February, you can experience a sparkling winter landscape in a garden that transforms into an enchanting winter wonderland with jolly snowmen, glittering frost crystals and ethereal light.

All rides and restaurants are open during all four seasons.
