Danish Architecture Center
Discover Copenhagen through architecture, design and city life at the Danish Architecture Center.
With a Copenhagen Card, you can visit DAC and explore exhibitions that show how architecture shapes the way we live, move and meet — from iconic Danish buildings and design classics to the cities of the future.
DAC is located in BLOX on Copenhagen’s harbourfront, close to the historic city centre, cycle bridges and harbour baths. Here, you will find exhibitions, family activities, DAC Slide, a design shop and a café with rooftop terraces and views over the city.
Meet the icons of Danish architecture and design
In the permanent exhibition So Danish!, you can meet the icons of Danish architecture and design and take a journey through 1,000 years of Danish architecture — from Viking ring fortresses to modern design classics and contemporary buildings.
Through films, models, original drawings and spatial installations, the exhibition shows how architecture, urban spaces and design have shaped Danish society, everyday life and the way we live together.
So Danish! is a great introduction for international visitors who want to understand Denmark and Copenhagen through architecture and design.
Changing exhibitions about architecture, design and the cities of the future
DAC presents changing exhibitions exploring architecture, design, urban development and the future of how we live.
The exhibitions are for children, adults, architecture lovers and anyone curious about the city. Here, you can gain new perspectives on how architecture affects everyday life — and how future cities can be-come more sustainable, inclusive and vibrant.
See current exhibitions at dac.dk.
Architecture for the whole family
Architecture is also for children. On weekends and during selected holidays, DAC offers open family workshops where children and adults can build, draw, experiment and explore the world of architec-ture together with DAC’s guides.
Families can also follow children’s trails in the exhibitions, try DAC Slide — a 40-metre slide through BLOX — and visit the outdoor playground.
DAC Café with harbour views
At DAC Café, you can experience Copenhagen from above, with views over the inner harbour, rooftops, towers and bridges.
Take a seat on one of the café’s three large rooftop terraces and enjoy Nordic dishes, a cup of coffee or a drink with views over the city. The café is ideal as the final stop of your visit — or as a break along the way.
Access to the café requires an entrance ticket or a DAC Annual Pass.
DAC Design Shop
DAC Design Shop is open to everyone and does not require a ticket.
Here, you can explore a hand-picked selection of Danish design, archi-tecture books, posters, home accessories, jewellery, accessories and gift ideas from both well-known and emerging designers.
The shop is a great place to find a gift, a souvenir from Copenhagen or something special for yourself.
