Danish War Museum

Discover 500 years of Danish war history.

The War Museum offers a vivid insight into Denmark’s military history and the conflicts that have shaped the country’s past and present – both geographically and culturally.
Explore models of historic warships from the Danish Navy and discover the museum’s treasury of unique artefacts from around the world, including an actual tank.
The exhibition “Warrior” focuses on the individuals behind the battles. What does it mean to go to war – and how does it affect us? The exhibition explores similarities and differences across time, from a Japanese samurai to a modern Danish soldier.

The museum is located in Christian IV’s historic Tøjhus on Slotsholmen, in the heart of Copenhagen.
